How Tide Education Works

Tide Education provides schools a simple and straight forward way to create, record and monitor interventions. Each school has the ability to create their own interventions, ones that are tailored to their cohort and needs. Tide Education also allows schools to create teams so teachers and leaders can collaborate and work together on the interventions.

 

Interventions for students are created using our mobile app, both iOS and Android. Here teachers can search for a student, review their interventions, as well as their overall intervention profile, as well as create new interventions. Once created, there is also the ability to add notes to each intervention so that progress can be monitored, and when the intervention has been completed it can be closed, where the actual impact of the intervention can be recorded.

All of this is stored in our AWS database which is both searchable and visualised in our desktop app in detail, as well as there being summaries available in our mobile applications. AWS also handles all of our security and user account provisioning.

Users can be created in two ways. You can import your users from Wonde, or you can create them manually, by entering in the name and email address. Just select the appropriate button at the top of the screen. Tide Education supports Single Sign-On (SSO) via Microsoft.

 

From here you can manage all your Users, you can enable and suspend user accounts as well as assign Users to Teams, allowing them to collaborate.

Create Teams and Term Dates

Next you can create Teams and assign your User to the Teams. If you have a team that supports Attendance, you can create that team and assign members to it, so they can collaborate and work together on the attendance interventions that are created. 

 

Then you need to enter your schools term dates. This enables the analysis to be reviewed by term, allowing for trends and impact to be assessed.  .

Create Your Interventions

Tide Education comes with a 'placeholder' intervention schema. In the 'Manage Schema' under the Intervention section in the desktop app you can customise the interventions. First you have the Category, such as Attendance, then the Stage or Phase (whatever you wish to call it) and finally the Intervention Type. All of which can be mapped with cascading filters so limiting which interventions are available depending on the Category and Stage chosen. Once completed you can Publish to 'Live'.

 

Not only can all of these be customised for your school and cohort, you can also update and amend them as required. Simply copy the 'Live' version, creating a 'Draft' and edit this. Once completed this can be Published to 'Live' and the previous version is 'Superceded'.

Once you have have created your Users and configured your interventions you can download the mobile app, either from the Apple  or Google Play stores, depending on your chosen device. 

 

Here in the mobile app you can search for students, connecting to your MIS via Wonde. Then you can create interventions, here you will see the intervention schema you have created for your school and cohort. When creating the intervention you can enter as much detail as you wish, such as the expected impact or general notes such as meetings to be arranged. You can also assign the intervention to another member of staff and it will appear in their 'My Interventions' within the mobile app.
